Barber Motorsports Park
11.11.06: North East Sportbike Association
This was the last hurrah for the season. and other than some less than ideal weather, it was a good end to the season.

We, (Diesel, Superchicken and I) arrived at Barber rather early on Friday and had a chance to see the wonderful museum. The staff was great, allowing us into their offices for a close up view of a wooden bike that was donated and even joined in our antics in the gift shop. After the  museum we started drinking the requisite beer while waiting to get into the track. Once the normal cluster-fuck smoothed out a bit, i got into the track and got a good pit right next to pit-in. Well, i thought it was right next to it, but a few cars squeezed into the small area between. luckily, the area wasnt that small and we harmoniously lived next to one another after the sudden jolt of their irrational spacial reasoning wore off.

We woke up on Saturday at our hotel, which was a mere 1 mile away, to some cool inclement weather. even though i was paying for the weekend, i really wanted to keep my "no crashing this year" streak going so i opted not to run in the rain.  and besides, we were there for two days. so instead of riding, we watched some riding and then found the main room in the media tower to be open. there, we had access to many tvs, but only three channels. two sports channels and the closed circuit feed of the race track. but this didnt occupy us for too long, or at least me, so i grabbed my laptop and was able to conect it to one of the tvs and we watched "The Doctor, The Tornado, and the Kentucky Kid". a few other people managed to make the climb into the media tower and joined us for the showing. if we dont feel like riding in the rain, at least we could watch a documentary about riding. a distant second, but nice none the less.

I finall got on to the track after lunch and sarted to get into my groove. it was nice riding with Alex, as he has gotten to be quite a quick rider and he was nice enough to ride with our little group for a short period before he would ride off and give us someone to chase. However, Diesel and I were running almost the exact same pace
